Career, Counseling and Placement Cell
Career guidance encompasses the concept of educational, vocational, personal and all other forms of guidance it aims at, enhancing the social image and status of the students and develop his personality, which is the soul aim of career guidance cell, in addition to academic excellence. College has started promoting the activity of developing students’ skill for various competitive examinations and campus selection programs by arranging special lectures on personality development, in the field of administration, professionals and other related disciplines. For this purpose, Career Guidance Cell was established in the year 1992 with the following aims and objectives |
- To create awareness of different competitive examinations among the students.
- To provide necessary information and guidance for the preparation of competitive examinations.
- To orient the student for competitive examinations.
- To guide for placement in various fields.
- To arrange campus selection program.
- To help in the total development of the student.
- To help in the proper choice of courses.
- To motivate the students for self-employment
- To identify and motivate the students from weaker sections of society.
- To ensure proper utilization of time spent side out the classroom by students.
- To support the students in the development of soft skills and communication ability to challenge the rigors of competitive tests and on-job-training in add-on or vocational courses.
- To inculcate social values and ability to think independently for carrying out social responsibilities.
- To create a homogeneous group among teachers to translate this vision and carry out its healthy functions as an institutional imperative.
- To develop a resource center of information, guidance and counseling with free accessibility and Internet based connectivity and exchange of information on professional placements.
A campus interview was arranged from Bharat Forge, Ltd Pune. Near about 62 students appeared and 13 were selected. A guest lecture was arranged on Globalization and Sez. Speaker was Shri. Bhai Vaidya, Ex. Home Minister, Govt. of Maharashtra. The students are aware of mathematics in various competitive examinations. Therefore a lecture series of two days was arranged on methods of Quick Calculations and competitive examinations.The chief guest was Dr. R. G. Athwale, Ex. Principal, Govt. B.Ed. college, Akola.To develop the personality of students, two days workshop on Personality Development was arranged. |
The chief guest was Mr. Prashant Timande, Dy. Manager, Hindusthan Lever. Ltd. Nagpur.
Campus selection programme from Kirloskar Oil Engines Ltd., Pune was arranged on 15/02/2007, 48 students were appeared of which 11 were selected as Job trainee.
Second campus interview for the students of B.Sc. /M.Sc. was arranged on 23rd Sept. 2009 in collaboration with Wipro Ltd. Pune. About 50 students were participated and examined orally and telephonically by Mr. K. Ravi, Manager, HR, Wipro, Pune. To motivate the students towards competitive examinations, a big programme of guest lectures series was arranged on 10th Jan 2009. The following chief guests were invited to deliver lectures on different disciplines.
Shri. Shyamsunder Shinde, IAS, Mumbai, Shri. Mahendra Kalyankar, Asst. Registrar, Co-operative dept., Mumbai, Shri. Prashant Bilolikar Dy. Commissioner, Sales Tax, Mumbai, Shri. Hanumant Sangneeor, Sr. Geologist, GSDA, Nanded. The programme was arranged in collaboration with Apulki, Nanded. This programme was presided over by Dr. V. R. Kabde, Chairman, Nanded Educatioin Soceity, Nanded.
Another guest lecture on Career opportunities in Indian and Abroad in modern world was arranged on 12th Dec.- 27 Nov. 2009. The chief guests were Shri. Anil Shete and N.A. Gadhi, Pune. A campus selection programme from Godavari Drugs, Nanded was arranged on Dec. 12, 2009 26 students of M.Sc. were appeared.
The students were notified time to time for to appear for various bank exams, UPSC, MPSC, LIC, and the co-operative sector examinations. also for campus selection programmes arranged in and outside the college. Students were also motivated to appear for Graduate Excellence Examination, conducted by Nowroji Wadia College, Pune.
Under Career and Counseling Cell, a proposal for Entry in Services, for SC/ST/OBC and minority students was submitted to UGC, New Delhi. Under Xth Plan. The college received an amount of Rs. 7,00,000/- (Seven Lakh Rs.) to prepare the students belonging to above categories for competitive examination. Under this scheme three students (Two ST & on SC category) were selected as police sub inspectors through Maharashtra Public Service Commission, Mumbai. Two students belonging to St category joined their services as Assistants in State Bank of Hyderabad. One student from ST category joined as Sr. Assistant in collector office Jalna (MS). One of ST category girl student (Miss. Vanita Barge) successed in Pre & Main examination conducted by Maharashtra Public Service Commission, Mumbai & appeared for oral examination.
Our college has recently have been granted scheme of Coaching Classes for Entry in Services for SC/ST/OBC and Minority student and another scheme of Career and Counseling Cell.
